Sweetheart Abbey Art Print. A popular and romantic place to visit in New Abbey around 5 miles from Dumfries.

Sweetheart Abbey - founded in the 13th Century by Lady Dervorgilla in memory of her late husband, Lord John Balliol,.  Following the death of her husband, she had his heart embalmed and placed in a silver and ivory casket which she kept with her at all times. When she died  she was laid to rest, with the casket and the monks chose the name Sweetheart to honour  her memory.

This unique art print in traditional railway poster style is from original artwork by Caroline Smith. Created in our studio in rural Scotland, this modern Travel Poster would look great in your home or make the perfect reminder of your visit to Galloway.

Larger A2 and A1 prints and framed prints will come to you direct from our supplier.
