The art of drawing Hydrangeas
I've always enjoyed my own company and used to drive my mother mad as a child sitting inside drawing and reading when she thought I should be outside doing things. (I was a ginger, what did she expect!)
She hasn't changed and neither have I - although nowadays she does appreciate the free, never-ending greetings card supplies.😆
Many decades later, I'm still drawing but now I have an iPad Pro - one of the best inventions ever (apart from the internet, air fryers and heated golf mitts). Art experts tend to dismiss digitally created art but to me it’s just another tool but one that’s small, clean, portable and easy to pick up and put down. I have painted on long journey's down the M6, on a plane and on the balcony of a Spanish apartment. If it's good enough for Hockney then I'm in.
I could draw this in ink and paint in watercolours on paper but I choose not to. One massive upside is that once done the files can be transferred to my iMac easily to produce beautiful prints.
As to what’s on the telly, well usually things that don’t require concentration. Bake-off, Grand Designs, Midsomer Murders… you get the drift. These petals are taking so long I could just binge-watch Game of Thrones 🤟
Equipment in case you’re interested: iPad Pro 5th Gen 12.9 inch, Apple Pencil and Procreate.
